Suggestion For Mining Volcanic Ash that Makes Decent Sense: Allow us to throw logs of the entire spectrum of tiers onto volcanic vents on the fossil island volcano for the ash that spreads to add to the duration of piles (AOE) when mining for volcanic ash. I.E. a redwood or magic log would add ~70 ticks and a regular log might add ~3 ticks.
