For most airports, you must be checked in at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time (airports requiring additional time are listed below ). Additionally, you’re required to be at the gate and ready to board 15 minutes before scheduled departure.
The minimum time to check-in for an American Airlines (AA) flight is: 45 minutes before scheduled departure time for U S domestic flights. 60 minutes before scheduled departure time for international flights to/from the US.

Check in from 24 hours before your flight departs using Manage My Booking. Print, download or email your boarding pass. If you lose or forget your boarding pass, you can print it again at a check-in kiosk at the airport.
We advise passengers to arrive at their terminal 2 hours before departure time for short-haul flights, and 3 hours before long-haul flights. If you are checking bags or travelling in a group you should allow more time.
