    The Allegheny County Police Academy provides updated, diversified, quality instruction for recruits and continuing education for certified police officers in Allegheny County.

  2. There are two basic recruit classes per year, beginning in either January or July, according to the Municipal Police Officers' Education and Training Commission (MPOETC) curriculum of 25 weeks.
