As a recent article in Bloomberg points out, the space between Economy seats has been steadily shrinking, from 34 to 35 inches down to 30 to 31 inches.
P = First Class. R = First Class Suites. If you’re flying domestically on a flight anywhere in the United States, the code “F” usually refers to a seat on a two-cabin plane. The “P” code usually stands for Premium and is used for seats on a three-cabin plane that involves a higher class of service.

Finding a seat is pretty straight forward, the fastest way is to type “Airline Airplane Seatguru” (for example “British Airways 747 seatguru”, or “Air Canada 773e seatlink for that matter) in google, which will direct you straight to the annotated seat map of the airplane.
17 maj 2023 · The codes have a letter and a number. Each of the above fare classes is identified with a one-letter code: Y = A full-fare economy class ticket. W= A full-fare premium economy class ticket. J= A full-fare business class ticket. F= A full fare first class ticket. There are various other letters to describe lower fares of the same class as well.
1 paź 2019 · The airline's 737 MAXes are grounded for now. Seats: For the most part, Main Cabin (read: regular economy) seats are 16.3 to 18 inches wide and have 30 to 32 inches of pitch. The A320s and nontranscontinental A321s have some of the narrowest seats. Boeing 737s and Airbus A319s have the least pitch, at just 30 inches.
