This section will provide instruction on how to manage a flight delay or cancellation occurring within 72 hours of your scheduled departure. At times we may change our flight schedule to better accommodate your needs, but we’re here to assist you if you need to change or cancel your flight.
Tickets purchased directly from Delta, including Basic Economy fares, are included in our 24-Hour Risk-Free Cancellation policy. This means you have up to 24 hours after booking to cancel your ticket for any reason and receive a full refund with no change or cancellation fees.
Tickets not changed or canceled prior to departure will have no remaining value. Basic Economy tickets cannot be changed in most cases; however, you may be able to cancel minus a cancellation fee as outlined below, and apply the remaining value, issued as an eCredit, toward a future Delta ticket.

1 maj 2022 · Basic economy tickets do not allow flight changes. Instead, you'll need to cancel your Delta flight (with the associated fees discussed above) and then book your desired flight. But, you can change nonrefundable and refundable reservations without going through the hassle of canceling and rebooking.
For tickets issued for travel originating in Europe, no change or cancel is permitted for tickets issued on or after March 21, 2024 (€200 for tickets issued prior to that date, and €150 for tickets issued on or after February 23, 2023).
