Career mode is a game mode that is as of January 27, 2022, available as a prototype. This mode is for completing missions in the game. The game mode is currently an early prototype posted by Stef Morojna on YouTube.
I'm playing through a Career-mode game in 1.0.5 and trying to get a basic plane (not a spaceplane, just a "gets me around to some survey locations" in-atmosphere plane), with the most basic tech. The "Aviation" node of the tech tree unlocks the basic landing gear, plane cockpit, wings, and liquid-fuel fuselage parts.
