If so, it increases the number of hours some short-haul drivers can work to 14 per day. It also bumps the air-mile radius (from the trucking base) from 100 to 150 miles.

29 sie 2022 · The 150 air-mile exemptions, which are in the regulations at 395.1 (e) (1) and (2), allow a driver to use a time record in place of a log, provided that certain conditions are met. While this is possibly the most widely used hours-of-service exemption, it may be the most commonly misused exemption, as well.
Mileage Tax Registration allows reduced fees depending on the weight of the vehicle and the number of miles operated. Illinois law allows these vehicles to be operated in Illinois for a limited number of miles, and operators are charged less registration fees than those of long-distance carriers.
