To find 1 mod 5 using the Modulo Method, we first divide the Dividend (1) by the Divisor (5). Second, we multiply the Whole part of the Quotient in the previous step by the Divisor (5). Then finally, we subtract the answer in the second step from the Dividend (1) to get the answer.
Method 1: Look at the multiplication table; e.g., 2·3 ≡1 (mod 5), so 2−1 =3 and 3−1 =2. Method 2: Intelligent trial and error: Consider integers mod 7: 2·4 ≡ 1 (mod 7), so 2 and 4 are inverses of each other.

If you look at a multiplication table for modular arithmetic, you will see that sometimes we have a value 1 as the product. For example, 2*3 mod 5 = 1. This means that 2 and 3 are also multiplicative inverses of one another mod 5. Division itself is not something that is defined.
