Check your advanced mailbox settings. If you have a Google, Yahoo! Mail, iCloud, IMAP, or POP3 account, check the settings in the advanced mailbox settings to make sure they're configured to your email provider's specification.
If you have added Yahoo and are stuck, remove the account in Mail app Settingss > Manage accounts, and then try adding it back again after restarting PC. Based on the results you reply back with, I may have other steps to try.
