7 cze 2011 · With West System 105/207 depending on temp, you won't have to wait long before you hit the not tacky state and ready for the 2nd coat. Just a few hours (check for "not tacky" on the end you started with).
105/207 Epoxy is used for coating and fiberglass cloth application where an exceptionally clear, moisture-resistant, natural wood finish is desired. 105/207 is blush free and will not requiring less sanding in preparation for finish coatings.
Sand the piece to remove stained and weathered wood. Apply three coats of WEST SYSTEM® 105 Resin/ 207 Special Coating Hardener. Second and third coats can be applied while the previous coat is still tacky. Dependant on ambient temperature, all three coats may be able to be applied in the same day.
If it’s warm out, and you apply the first coat in the morning, it’s usually safe to hot coat a second in the evening, but don’t be sloppy with it. After that you need to let it cure, carefully sand it smooth (no gloss but don’t burn through to bare wood) and add the third coat.
Initially apply two or three coats over the 105/207 epoxy base and a new coat every second or third year to assure a continued glossy surface. This approach not only renews the surface to a high gloss, but also takes care of any defects or scratches whilst maintaining the UV protective barrier.
105 Epoxy Resin® is a clear, low-viscosity liquid epoxy resin. Formulated for use with one of four WEST SYSTEM® hardeners. It can be cured in a wide temperature range to form a high-strength solid bond with excellent moisture resistance. 105 Epoxy Resin, when mixed at the proper ratio with a WEST SYSTEM hardener, is an excellent adhesive.
