All facilities are licensed by the Agency for Health Care Administration and inspected annually by AHCA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The homes are supervised round the clock by registered and licensed nurses. Under the IRS tax code, monetary donations to specific state veterans’ homes are tax deductible.
Many of Florida’s CareerSource centers are staffed with professional Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialists and Local Veterans Employment Representatives who provide priority workforce services to veterans.
FDVA has approximately 100 State Veterans’ Service Officers, known in veterans’ circles as “SVSOs,” co-located with the VA Regional Office in Bay Pines, each VA Medical Center and many VA Outpatient Clinics throughout the state. All outreach services are free to the Veteran.
