Short Artist Bio. I was born and raised in Buffalo, NY, but have called Miami my home for about twenty years. Since my move to this vibrant city, some of my stints include teaching English at Miami-Dade College as an adjunct professor and attaining an MFA in Creative Writing in Fiction at FIU.
Molly McGreevy (b. 1971) was raised in Buffalo NY, directly underneath an intense snow belt that, much like a distant relative from Cleveland, travels across Lake Erie in October and stays for a while but then never leaves.
Artist Statement. The starting point in my process always begins with a strong sense of “place.” Certain qualities of location, of domestic spaces in particular—the way sunlight hits an alcove, an arrangement of chairs around a table, a familiar color or texture of upholstery or a wallpaper—can conjure to the mind earlier memories and associations.
