Downtown Gatlinburg is less than 2 miles from the entrance to Great Smoky Mountain National Park. In fact, it is often referred to as the Gateway to Great Smoky Mountain National Park. U.S. Highway 441 passes right through downtown Gatlinburg. This road is also called the Parkway.

I'm not sure about cabins but some condos within walking distance are. Summit Manor, Baskins Creek condos, Olde Gatlinburg Place and Gatlinburg Town Square. Some obviously further from the pkwy than others. Try looking at a Google map to give you an idea of distance.
