29 gru 2015 · Great Circle Map Generator. A recent 'year end review' posting in the Amateur Radio Weekly blog, reminded me of great little piece of online software that might interest a lot of hams. It is a very nice Great Circle Map Generator, centered on your specific location.
Great Circle Map displays the shortest route between airports and calculates the distance. It draws geodesic flight paths on top of Google maps, so you can create your own route map.
Freeware. I am a hobby programmer and made the program as a learning excercise. The program is made with the Codeblocks IDE and MINGW compiler. The framework is WxWidgets. The original program was written in Visual Basic 3 and is still available on the download pages. It is quite outdated now.
download newest file from http://www.greg-hand.com/versions/. Install it in a directory where files can be written. (In newer Windows versions you cannot create files in the Program folder) The default is to install it in c:\itshfbc. Older version: GcmWin Beta 3.1.5 2010-01-24.
