FLIGHT COMPUTER The flight computer has two sides; the calculator side is used to work problems involving time, distance, speed, fuel consumption, true airspeed, nautical to Statute conversions, off-course, altitude, and multiplication and division. The wind side is used to determine the effect of wind on the aircraft.
THE E6-B FLIGHT CALCULATOR is the iconic tool of every aviator. Although eclipsed by electronic replacements, mastering the old analog "slide rule" is still a rite of passage during primary training. In the sub-menus to the left are links to two Flash E6-B Emulators.
Instructions for Using ASA Flight Computer. Your ASA E6-B Flight Computer has two main parts: a circular slide rule side for making quick calculations, and a wind side for computing ground speed and wind correction angle. The slide portion of the circular slide rule side also includes quick-reference material.
