9 cze 2024 · The National Museum of the US Air Force is a treasure worth an entire day for anyone with the energy to take it all in. We wimped out at 6 hours, but what a great 6 hours! The aircraft are fabulous and so well displayed within the context of their place in history.

The National Museum of the United States Air Force traces its birth to 1923 at McCook Field near Dayton; it moved to Wright Field in 1927. The museum closed from 1940 to 1954 due to urgent need for administrative space to support the war effort and postwar USAF growth.
