You can do many of the things you call us about online or in the American app. It's easy and convenient – just find your trip using your 6-character confirmation code or log in to your AAdvantage ® account. Here are just a few of the things you can do online: Book, change or cancel your trip. Check in for your trip.
Refunds (request or status check) If you bought your ticket or related travel products and services through American Airlines, you can request a refund or check your refund status. If you bought your ticket from a travel agent or on another website, contact them for refund help.
Keep the cancellation email if you’re issued a travel credit. It contains the ticket number and original confirmation code you’ll use to rebook a future flight. If you paid for seats or bags, they are non-refundable if you cancel your flight.
If you cancel your trip on aa.com before departure, we will cancel your ticket and issue a Trip Credit. Your Trip Credit will be valid until the date listed on the credit. If you cancel your trip through any other channel, we will cancel your ticket and issue a Flight Credit.
