27 sty 2018 · Today I've installed software on my Win 10 laptop, resulting in the problem AVG Free AntiVirus was installed additionally on my machine. I've already tried removing it - but then an "Access denied" message appears. It says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file.
At times, it just feels like AVG is trying to take over my PC, telling me what I can run, what I can't run, with it's permission of course. On top of that, it's almost impossible to shut down and remove AVG if you don't want it.
28 maj 2021 · Basically whenever steam is downloading a game the CPU usage is incredibly high because AVG decides to eat majority of CPU during the download. Is there any way to add Steam as an exception so AVG doesn't turn my PC into a nuclear reaction when downloading a simple game?
The two free AVs with fewer popups than AVG etc., are Windows Defender (none at all) and Kaspersky Security Cloud Free (around 3 a week). Kaspersky offers the strongest overall protection. Defender, providing you use Edge browser, is effective, but less so against zero-day, (new) malware.
