11 lis 2021 · The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) require LEAs to be enrolled as SHARS Medicaid providers, participate in the Random Moment Time Study (RMTS), submit claims that are reimbursed on an interim basis, and submit an annual SHARS Cost Report.
Medicaid reimbursement received by school districts for SHARS services is considered “vendor” payments and do not require separate accountability for audit purposes.
As services are delivered, SHARS districts are required to submit a claim and bill for these services as active providers in the SHARS program. Failure to bill for services in accordance with the Texas Medicaid Providers Procedure Manual will impact your school district's Medicaid funding.
