Rehabilitation Goals. Reduce any swelling, minimize pain. Restore lower extremity mobility (including hip, knee, ankle). Restore tolerance to full motion. Minimize arthrogenic muscle inhibition and re-establish quadriceps, hip control. Patient education.

Different exercise programs may yield different results, but a consistent program typically results in improvement of symptoms. More studies are required to evaluate the effectiveness of alternative therapies.
