Both those books just end on these cheap cliffhangers for nearly every character. If only they were one book, tighter, better edited and actually containing the ending which was shifted to TWOW, it would have been the best book in the series.
The first three books are exceptional, especially the third. It shows how different people play the game of thrones. Being honorable and righteous will not make you win in this kind of game. What I liked about it is the point-of-view of each characters.
