Right-click on Powershell to run as admin. In the powershell windows, copy/paste or type the following command always: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$ ($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"} Restart PC. Try again to set DuckDuckGo as your default browser.
20 mar 2023 · if "Search engine used in the address bar." is not already set to DuckDuckGo, select it from the dropdown. in "Search on new tabs uses search box or address bar" select address bar from the drop down, this will mean it will use your preferred search engine even if you type in the search box on the new tab page.
I would like to have DuckDuckGo to open as default when I open the new tab, but I can't find a way to do it. Is MS trying to limit access to other search engines? Why are you forcing us to use Bing?
Click the Search engine used in the address bar dropdown; you should now see DuckDuckGo; select it. If you'd also like to use DuckDuckGo instead of Bing on the New Tab Page, click on the Search on new tabs uses search box or address bar dropdown and select Address bar. Close the Settings page and test your new defaults.

What you can do is set the DuckDuckGo website as the startup page for your browser so each time that you will open your browser, it will open DuckDuckGo right away. If you are using Edge, follow the steps below.

Select Reset Settings > Restore settings to their default values. Click Reset. Restart your computer. After that, please try to set DuckDuckGo again. Edge > Click 3 dots > Settings.
