Educators teach in diverse settings, within varied cultural, social, economic and political contexts. A common thread across these settings is the important role that educators can play in afecting the lives of the children, their families, and the communities in which they live and work.
In particular, a teacher code of conduct should focus on the various types of behaviour that constitute a major obstacle to access, quality, equity and ethics within the education sector of the considered country. The code should also clarify the general rights of teachers as professionals and employees, and the legal grounds for those rights.
The code of ethics and conduct for teaching profession are defined as the overall principles and rules of the bases of well-behaviors and good practices in teaching.
