Beyond 15 bookshelves there is no additional effect to adding more, so there is no need to build this entire structure since version 1.3. With just 15 bookshelves in any of the valid positions you can achieve the maximum enchanting level which is 30.
12 sty 2021 · Yes, in short, at 15 bookshelves the enchantment table "maxes out" and unlocks the level 30 enchantments that are what you should be aiming for. The positioning is the enchantment table in the middle, a 3x3 ring of nothing, then the 15 bookshelves somewhere in the 5x5 surrounding the 3x3. But yeah it does make it pretty.
8 gru 2011 · Calculations: Silk Touch can occur within a Modified Enchantment Level (MEL) of 25-75. The MEL is arrived at by the calculation. MEL = Enchantment Level + Random(0, Enchantablility) + 1. Where Enchantment Level is the number of experience levels spent to enchant the item and Enchantability is determined by the material, thus: Enchantability.

Long story short: When you place an item on the enchantment table it shows you one of the enchantments. It could be one out of one, or it could be one out of four, or in between. Share.
3 wrz 2013 · The symbols in the enchanting table have no relation to the actual enchant it yields; they are randomized. You can translate them, however. The symbols are from Commander Keen's Standard Galactic Alphabet: Again, though, the sentences and phrases are meaningless. Your enchants are random (well, sort of, as of Minecraft 1.8).

(see this page for a list of weights) 1 Divide the level by half and round it down. 2 Decide to keep going with a chance of ( (level + 1)/50) in 1. 3 Remove all conflicting enchantments (no silk touch and fortune on the same thing) 4 Pick a possible enchantment and apply it. 5 Go to step 1.
The Minecraft enchantment table uses the Standard Galactic Alphabet, originally from Commander Keen. It's not particularly easy to type with it normally, however, you can find translators online such as this one. Since the SGA is basically just a substitution cipher, all you'd really need is a font that changes the letters to their SGA equivalent.
