It is made of chemical substances that are linked together like a chain. Each piece of DNA has two long strands, or chains. The two strands are joined together. They form a shape like a ladder that has been twisted into a spiral. Chemicals called phosphates and sugars make up the sides of the ladder. DNA also has chemicals called bases.

The DNA is made of a succession of four different kinds of molecules, the nucleotides. The four different nucleotides are A, T, C and G. They are put one after another so that the order can "write" an information, just as you put letters one after another to write words, or digits one after another to write numbers.
What is DNA made of? DNA is a long thin molecule made up of something called nucleotides. There are four different types of nucleotides: adenine, thymine, cytosine, and guanine.
13 lis 2024 · DNA facts. DNA, short for deoxyribonucleic acid, is the molecule that contains the genetic code of organisms. This includes animals, plants, protists, archaea and bacteria. It is made up of two polynucleotide chains in a double helix.[1]
DNA is a long polymer made from repeating units called nucleotides. [ 6 ][ 7 ] The structure of DNA is dynamic along its length, being capable of coiling into tight loops and other shapes. [ 8 ] . In all species it is composed of two helical chains, bound to each other by hydrogen bonds.
8 cze 2024 · DNA is made of four types of nucleotide: The 'rungs' of the DNA ladder are each made of two bases, one base coming from each leg. The bases connect in the middle: 'A' only pairs with 'T', and 'C' only pairs with 'G'. The bases are held together by hydrogen bonds.
DNA—more formally known as deoxyribonucleic acid—is found inside almost every cell. It controls how the cell replicates and functions and what traits are inherited from previous generations. DNA determines traits that can be seen—such as eye color in animals—as well as traits that are not visible, such as blood type.
