27 kwi 2021 · Extracting the contents of a tar file is very easy, and can be done with the -x (extract option). You’ll also have to include the -f (file) option to indicate to tar that you will specify the location of the file. Use the following syntax to extract the contents of a tar file. $ tar -xf archive.tar.
