The Basic Local Alignment Search Tool (BLAST) finds regions of local similarity between sequences. The program compares nucleotide or protein sequences to sequence databases and calculates the statistical significance of matches. BLAST can be used to infer functional and evolutionary relationships between sequences as well as help identify members of gene families.
ORF Finder searches for open reading frames (ORFs) in the DNA sequence you enter. The program returns the range of each ORF, along with its protein translation. Use ORF Finder to search newly sequenced DNA for potential protein encoding segments.
ORFfinder is a tool that identifies open reading frames (ORFs) in a DNA sequence. The current version of ORF finder is available here, but the resource is under development.
BLASTP programs search protein databases using a protein query. You can enter a query sequence, a subject sequence, or a pattern to align, and choose from various databases, algorithms, and parameters.
