bergamot 'Grape Gumball' A vigorous, clump-forming perennial with aromatic dark green leaves and strong upright stems producing globe-shaped clusters of magenta purple flowers throughout the summer. The leaves have a minty fragrance when crushed and can be used to make tea.
In midsummer, 'Grape Gumball' forms a solid dome of vibrant magenta, 2-2½” flowers on strong, well-branched stems. The dark green foliage forms an upright clump that will fill out containers nicely but won’t run all over the garden. It displays above average resistance to powdery mildew.
Grape Gumball beebalm is developed from a native beebalm and grows to about 2 feet tall and 2 feet wide. As befits its name, it bears fragrant 2 to 2.5-inch bright magenta flowers in mid-summer. It was developed to be a more low-growing and neater clumping beebalm for smaller scale gardens.
