The Greater Accra Regional Hospital’s (GARH) core mandate is the delivery of curative, health promotion and preventive services in the region and sub region. Its services range in complexity from secondary to tertiary level care.
The University of Ghana Medical Centre is a quaternary medical and research centre located on the campus of the University of Ghana in Accra, Ghana. [1][2]
The Greater Accra Regional Hospital (formerly the Ridge Hospital) [1] is a major regional hospital located in Accra, Ghana. History & Background. It is Located in the heart of Accra city, the GARH started as a Hospital for the European expatriates around 1928.
Health services in the region are provided by a network of health facilities comprising 707 CHPS facilities, 299 clinics, 101 maternity homes, 32 health centres, 22 polyclinics, 111 hospitals. There are two (2) psychiatric hospitals located in Korley Klottey Municipal and La-Nkwantanang Madina.

The first phase of the New Greater Accra Regional Hospital at Ridge was on Wednesday opened for public use with an expanded bed capacity from 192 to 420.
